Tour itinerary
⛪Starting point: Basilica del Voto Nacional: Our guide will welcome you to the Basilica del Voto Nacional, an icon of Quito. From the outside, we will appreciate its gothic architecture and learn about the history of the famous Church of the End of the World (If you wish to climb the towers for a panoramic view of the city, the entrance fee is not included, and costs approximately $4.00). We will also visit the entrance to the Pantheon of the Presidents of Ecuador.
🎨Camilo Egas Museum: We will enter the world of Ecuadorian modernist art at the Camilo Egas Museum, where we will learn about the works of this famous painter. In addition, this space functions as a cultural center with educational workshops.
🐊 Plaza de la Lagartija: Formerly, this place was the garden of the Augustinians. Here we will discover stories and curiosities of the colonial era.
🏡 Casa 1028 and the legend of Bella Aurora: We will stop at the mysterious Casa 1028, where we will relive the fascinating legend of Bella Aurora, a story full of mystery and Quiteño tradition.
📍 Plaza Chica: a corner full of history: We will make a brief stop in this small but charming square, which hides many stories and curiosities.
🏛️ Plaza Grande and Archbishop's Palace: The heart of the Historic Center awaits us.Here we will talk about the history of Quito while capturing unique images of daily life in the city. We will also visit the Archbishop's Palace, an architectural gem with endless historical tales.
🎭 Metropolitan Cultural Center and La Ronda Street: We will explore the Centro Cultural Metropolitano, a space full of temporary exhibitions and perfect settings for spectacular photographs.Then, we will walk along La Ronda, one of Quito's oldest and most charming streets, full of art and culture.
✨ Grand finale in San Francisco and chocolate tasting: We will close our tour at the majestic San Francisco Church, where we will learn about the history of the Virgin of Quito. As a finishing touch, we will enjoy an exquisite chocolate tasting, the perfect sweet touch to end this incredible experience.
