Tour itinerary

-Day 1-

Your guide will pick you up at 5:00 p.m. from the airport or the terminal where you arrive in the city of Quito (the meeting point is coordinated once the reservation is confirmed), to take you to the Hotel Dann Carlton, where we will stay our first night. Once at the hotel, we will check-in, we will receive the instructions for our trip and the activities of the next day, and will have free time to rest.

-Day 2-

We will spend this day learning about La Carita de Dios, our beautiful city of Quito. A day where we will have a taste of the best Quito gastronomy, such as traditional Quito sweets, humitas, tamales, among others; We will also visit museums and churches that are more than four centuries old and to end the day we will have the opportunity to taste one of the best chocolates in the country.

-Day 3-

On our third day of the tour, we will have several activities around the city of Quito. In the morning we will have a walk through one of the giants that protect the city, the great Ruco Pichincha volcano, in this place with luck we will be able to observe birds and if the day is clear we will have the opportunity to see the avenue of volcanoes. In the afternoon we will have our lunch and visit the Middle of the World City and the Museum of  Intiñán site, where we can learn about the cultures that inhabited the area before the conquest.​​

-Day 4-

On the morning of our fourth day and once we have checked out of the hotel, we will begin our trip to the cloud forest of Ecuador, with the town of Nanegalito as our first stop.Later we will arrive in Mindo, where we will have a shot of adrenaline, with our adventure activity, at noon we will have our lunch and in the afternoon, we will visit one of the Mindo butterfly farms and the factory of one of the best chocolates in the country.

-Day 5-

On this day we will travel to the province of Los Lagos, Imbabura, but first, we will have a stop for breakfast in Cayambe, where we will taste biscuits and leaf cheese. Afterward, we will travel to the city of Otavalo and we will be able to visit the world-famous Plaza de Ponchos, where we will be able to shop for local handicrafts. ​In the afternoon we will visit the magical waterfall of Peguche and we will advance to the city of Ibarra where we will visit one of the oldest ice cream parlors in the city, where they will explain to us how to make the traditional paila ice cream.

-Day 6-

On our sixth day and with the help of guides from the area we will have a tour of the beautiful Cuicocha lagoon and the city of Cotacachi. At the end of our tour, we will advance to the great moor of El Ángel, to be able to spend the night at Polylepis Lodge.

-Day 7-

Before checking out we will have time to enjoy the facilities of this beautiful lodge. Afterward we will begin our trip back to Quito, making a stop to have our lunch at Laguna de Yahuarcocha. Once in Quito, we will check-in at the hotel and close our tour with an incredible dinner at Café Mosaico, where we can appreciate the magical sunsets of Quito.

-Day 8-

We will have our breakfast and we will check out of the hotel. This day will be free for us to explore Quito on our own. The schedules are coordinated to meet us for the last time, to be able to take you to the airport or terminal, so that you can continue with your trip through Ecuador or back home.

On the day of the tour you will find one of our guides at the meeting point with a crimson t-shirt and a sign with the Kunakkuna Experiences logo.

  • Tour packages are operated with a maximum of 16 people per group.
